The online outlet then claims that Markle has “already begun talking with fertility experts”

A “royal baby” for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle is not “on the way,” as wrongly teased by the serial fabricators at HollywoodLife, nor is there talk of her being a “pregnant bride.” It’s all fake news. And sadly, this made-up report is topping news searches and duping readers into clicking onto to it.

HollywoodLies, as it is known, picked up the misinformation for its article from the tabloid OK!, which alleges to have a source who says Markle and Prince Harry “don’t want to wait long to have kids.” After an initial bait-and-switch, the website acknowledges that should the actress and the redheaded royal get engaged, they would “prefer to get married first” before starting a family. The online outlet then claims that Markle has “already begun talking with fertility experts about freezing her eggs.” Quoting from the often discredited OK!, HollywoodLife adds without any fact-checking, “She doesn’t want to take any chances.” Even more absurdly, the lazy site asks its readers, who are not journalists, “Do you think Meghan and Harry will get married soon?”

Gossip Cop, on the entire other side of the spectrum, investigates every single story. We even reached out to an impeccable Markle source, who tells us the online outlet’s spin about a “royal baby” and “freezing her eggs” is 100 percent “false.” We’re also assured that no legitimate person in the actress’s close circle would divulge any such information to a tabloid like OK! or a webloid like HollywoodLife.

It should be noted the website’s track record when it comes to reporting about Prince Harry is abysmal. In 2015, for example, Gossip Cop nailed HollywoodLife for falsely claiming Prince Harry got a teen pregnant. And the source of its material, OK!, is perhaps even worse. That repeatedly disproved publication ran a cover story a couple of years ago that wrongly exclaimed Prince Harry and Cressida Bonas were engaged. Gossip Cop debunked that report, as well as several other covers stories from the same magazine, including one that untruthfully maintained Prince Harry and Pippa Middleton were secretly dating.

All of those reports were shown to be lies, as is the current tale that hints about a “royal baby on the baby.” It’s simply fake news. And if one searches “Meghan Markle” or “Prince Harry” on Google, incredibly this made-up claim is a “Top story” (below). So, if you want to read fiction about the “Suits” actress and her royal boyfriend, apparently it’s easy to find on the web and in the pages of tabloids, but if you want articles that have been fact-checked, come to Gossip Cop.
