Catherine Duchess of Cambridge stumbles on her lines: Duchess of Cambridge visits National Portrait Gallery
The Duchess of Cambridge attended the Portrait Gala 2014 at the National Portrait Gallery in London on Tuesday. On her first official engagement of the year, the Duchess met guests including photographer David Bailey and artist Grayson Perry before addressing the guests.
“I just wanted to say how delighted I am to be here this evening to celebrate the fantastic work of The National Portrait Gallery. It is more than simply a world-renowned visitor’s attraction – the Gallery’s outreach and research programmes makes it one of the leading centres for the important study into portraiture.”
The Duchess, who was wearing a diamond necklace on loan from the Queen, is a patron of the gallery. Report by Sophie Foster.
