Ed Sheeran reveals ‘I got cut up’ as he talks about THAT night with Princess Eugenie
ED Sheeran may have the voice of an angel, but he certainly has a devilish side – namely sword-fighting with royalty.
And during an appearance on The Graham Norton Show last night, the singer/songwriter was quizzed about his aristocratic friendships.
Last November, reports surfaced that The A Team star was struck by Princess Eugenie as she pretended to knight James Blunt at a party at the Royal Lodge in Windsor.
Squirming in his seat, beside fellow guests Matthew McConaughey and Christina Ricci, Ed did not look happy discussing the incident.
Foced into confessing, he caved: “I got cut up, what do you think [points to scar], rugged look?”
As host Graham went on to name Eugenie, Ed continued to look visibly uncomfortable, adding: “I can’t talk about this.”
He attemped to play diversion tactics, joking: “It was James Blunt trying to get his pop career back.”
Pressing him for information, Graham asked how the story leaked to the press.
Ed looked baffled, saying: “I don’t know, there wasn’t a lot of people there that night.”
It then transpired that Ed, 25, might be under legal pressure to not reveal what happened as he continued: “I can’t tell the story, but you can say allegedly what happened.”
Cue Graham spilling the beans.
He revealed how Eugenie, Beatrice, James and Ed were in a room and James “allegedly wanted to be knighted”. Graham then quipped: “Is that a euphemism?”
The presenter continued: “One of the princesses found a handy sword to knight him… there was a bit of sword play and Ed got cut in the face.”
“I can’t tell the story, but you can say allegedly what happened”
Ed then landed himself in it confirming “and then suddenly it came out” before adding “the alleged story”.
Award-winning Ed claimed the story didn’t break for at least a fortnight as he was “wandering around with a huge gash” telling people he had fallen.
Looks like the royals are just as wild the Geordie Shore crew.
